Good post.

This isn't how I remember my suspensions though. Each one was a holiday, loved every second. Get out of bed when I feel like it. Take a basketball round the local park and shoot hoops all day. Go down the school at lunchtime and meet my mates outside the gate, give them shit for still having to go to school.

The time they tried to expel me (for setting off a fire alarm. They'd had enough of me by this point) was a bit hairy, I really didn't want to have to join a new school, but my parents and a teacher who believed in me managed to persuade the board to reconsider.

The moral of the story is, I loved being suspended. The beating I took from Dad each time he was informed was worth it in the long run.

Kris! Thanks for this amazing reply. It's fascinating to know suspensions were like mini-vacations for you. Had the knife been absent? I think this might have been one of those for me. A few days of for my teenage stupidity. But the knife added a gravity to the situation I wasn't ready for.

Sounds like your a better survivalist -- or better at adapting than me -- when my world changes abruptly, it take me a few moments to adjust.

Have a great weekend.

Ah yes, that does make a difference. The worst I was ever caught with was a paint marker :D

I was once accused of thieving money from a teacher's purse. Was suspended from classes for two days while they interrogated me. That was some scary shit, especially as I knew I was innocent, and even worse I knew who had probably done it. What I didn't know was the kid who had done it was the one who had said he had seen me do it.

In the end it all came out in the wash, without so much as an apology from the school. That kid got suspended, (would've been expelled if it were me, but that kid had "troubles at home" so got off lighter).

So yea, I hear what you're saying. That kind of smoke ain't good for anyone's nerves.

Have a good one, mate.

Haha, a ninja sword! That's great. Don't know if I would have gotten off the hook with a full-on sword in my pack. We lucky few, indeed. I salute you for making it out alive. Thanks for your awesome comment.
